The Committee was initially formed in 1992 as a sub-committee of the Parish Council. The aims and objectives of the committee are the visitation of the elderly and the provision of social monitoring alarms.  The committee regularly reviews the alarm systems and the level of service provided by the alarm company while constantly seeking the best value for money. They have also helped to make the homes of the elderly more secure and safe by providing funding for the installation of door chains, sensor lights, smoke alarms and spy holes. The committee also provides a social outlet for them and helps with advice and voluntary jobs.
