The Society of St Vincent de Paul is a Christian voluntary organisation founded by Frederic Ozanam and inspired by their patron St Vincent De Paul to work with poor and disadvantaged people. We are involved in a diverse range of activities, characterised by support and friendship. Through person to person contact, we are committed to respecting the dignity of those we assist, assuring confidentiality at all times. We promote self-sufficiency, believing that it is not enough to provide short term material support. We are committed to identifying the root causes of poverty and exclusion in Ireland and in creating a more just and caring society.

The St Vincent de Paul Society is over 50 years in Tullow. The main works carried out by the members are:-

• helping people out of their financial difficulties

• funding further education for the under-privileged

• holidays for people in need

• visitation to hospitals and the elderly
